Dyed in the Wool wine label card

Dyed-in-the-Wool wine label card

The lovely PostMuse, who does far more than just postcards, send me this crafty card made from a wine bottle label. She said the wine wasn't anything fantastic, but I think the label makes a mighty fine card!

lady label

I'm most taken with the label on the envelope, though - I've never seen anything like this before but I love it.

Australian flying fox bat postcard with postage

And, because she is awesome and she knew I would love it, she enclosed this large Australian postcard of a flying fox, a large fruit bat, with the matching postage on the front. It's used, and someone else sent it to her, but of course I adore the bat image. Flying foxes are the COOLEST of bats. Aren't they just gorgeous creatures? I certainly think so.

This is what happens when I work late

...I stay up way too late afterwards, "winding down" by blog-hopping!

I should be in bed now, but I just found this awesome Pen Pal Envelope wraparound label and had to share it with you, dear readers. Check out the other labels linked at the end of the post - cool stuff. I'm gonna have to try this. I am also quite fond of the French postcard wraparound label.

And, to trace my blog-hopping routes, I found it on the fine 20 ways to be a good penpal post, which I reached via the ever-lovely Goodnight Little Spoon.

That's my blog-map for the evening, now I really must take a bath and sleep.

(Hey, since it's waaay after midnight, maybe this will count for a Wednesday post... or is that cheating?)

Yay! Snail mail goodies!

Yay! Snail Mail Goodies!

This label is fabu. Clearly it came from 16 sparrows or The Letter Writers Alliance, possibly one of their many free download goodies.

But the envelope itself is what's totally gorgeous - a dark, dark blue paper with a kind of gold sheen. (I am sure it's not coming through properly in the photo, even if you view the large size. Oh well.) Lovely combo.

And of course the letter is written and addressed with a very old fountain pen with a flexible nib, the effects of which you can see in the line variation of my address. So lovely. (In case you're wondering, I have a lot of fountain pens but no flex nibs yet. *sigh*)
