Outgoing February 4: a prolific mail weekend

Feb 4 outgoing, front

I am at the end of a special long weekend - I actually had 4 days off from work in a row!! This, during my busiest season, is particularly exciting. On Sunday, I went on a big mail extravaganza, and finally not only had a nice pile of outgoing mail to photograph, but actually remembered to photograph it, too. In here are personal letters, personal postcards, Postcrossing postcards - even my dreaded "tourist" postcards (but a lot of Postcrossers love 'em, so I keep 'em on hand).

Feb 4 outgoing, back

I was pretty decorative with stamp choice along with stickers - and you can see that I FINALLY received my new Global Forever stamps, too. Yay.

To everyone, a good mail day!

4th of July was a good mail day...

4th of July was a good mail day!

...for outgoing mail, I mean! This is all the mail from yesterday that is about to head off to the post office right now. Yay mail!

If you look closely, you'll see a glimpse of one of my NEW POSTCARD DESIGNS (can you tell I am excited?) that will debut in my etsy shop either later today or tomorrow.

Here's a closer look at all the stamps. I had fun putting those Star Wars stamps on the Star Wars postcard.

Happy summer mailing, everyone!

500th Postcrossing card giveaway winners

us-1268197

Behold - my 500th registered postcard via Postcrossing! This is a Jetoy cat postcard, US-1268197 to Finland.

The winner of the 5-postcard giveaway...

#10 is Sirpa! Sirpa has some really great luck, because she's won one of my giveaways before - way to go, Sirpa!

7 people correctly guessed that the 500th registered would be in Finland. Just as I was wondering if the random number generator ever picks 1...

...it did! Kanerva was the first of the seven, so she is the winner of the extra 2-postcard lucky guess giveaway.

Messages are off to Kanerva and Sirpa (is Finland a really lucky country? Both these gals are from Finland!) to let me know their choices for which postcards they want.

Thanks to everyone for entering, and for your congrats on my 500th postcard milestone! I'm pretty excited about it. Now, I wonder when I will have received 500 postcards? Right now I've only received 484.

Soda helps with a letter again

Soda helps with a letter again

So these photos are from way back in July (yeah, yeah, behind on the blogging) when we hadn't even moved yet. But they're so adorable they must be shared... Soda the letter-helper strikes again!

Feline letter queen

She really knows how to lay claim to a letter...

...and strike an adorable pose while doing so.

Could she tell it was cat-themed stationery I was using? This is a letterset by Jetoy.

Jetoy reindeer cat postcard

Jetoy Choo Choo reindeer cat postcard

I don't know why I find this particular postcard so irresistible, but I do. This was the one that made me cave and finally order the whole damn box of Jetoy Choo Choo postcards from an eBay seller in Korea. (They are not cheap.) So I sent it to a very special friend who will appreciate it in all its adorable weirdness.

(What's with the apple?)

Jetoy cat postcard

Jetoy cat postcard

I'm quite the fan of the Korean stationery company Jetoy, though I very rarely find their products available in the USA (even online). A couple of etsy sellers offer their items occasionally, but they tend to be quite expensive. So I often ooh and ahh over the wonderful Jetoy cats, not only because they are so beautiful and colorful, but also because I find them so difficult to obtain. I've found Jetoy cat sticky notes and keychains and the like on places like eBay and etsy, but I find the lettersets and postcards much more rare. (If anyone has an U.S. source for online ordering of these babies, LET ME KNOW!)

But a pen pal got her hands on them, and knew I'd love them, so she sent me one...

...inside a beautiful glassine envelope so I could see it the design from the outside!

I did squeal when I opened this one.
