Kermit the Frog postcard + stamp

I had the good fortune recently to get a Postcrossing address from someone else who loved the Muppets, especially Kermit the Frog. So I sent her this postcard. It came from the U.S. Postal service, from a set of postcards to match the Jim Henson/Muppets commemorative stamps.



Of course I had to incorporate the matching 37-cent Kermit stamp into the postage to Poland.

When puppets are outlawed

I fell in love with this postcard when I saw it in the very charming Bear Pond Books in Montpelier, VT. (If you visit Montpelier, I have a list of wonderful places to recommend - and Bear Pond Books is definitely on it. What a postcard selection!!!)



I took a photo of the back of the postcard just so the curious could see it's a photo of the Bread & Puppet Theatre, of Glover, VT, and the photo is by Paul O. Boisvert. You can order this image as a notecard or a postcard from the Syracuse Cultural Workers website.

Incidentally, the lovely recipient of this postcard just blogged about it today -- I guess she got the postcard I sent her AND the package at the same time, though they were sent a few days apart.

Peoples, I had 15 minutes now before I thought I must collapse into bed, so I spent it making this blog entry instead of reading the letters that came today. I have been so busy that I haven't had time to read my mail, let alone write it. Tomorrow night I shall have some time, and I will savor all those letters and hopefully even actually (GASP) write some.

The future's bright (green, that is)

Another great eBay find, a bit old lot of Muppets postcards. I'm not exactly sure what the slant is here - is it copying some other kind of ad slogan? - but I love it.

This fine recycled envelope came to me from Patty at Just Letter Rip. She recycles a lot of billing envelopes and then spices them up with her own flair. I actually saw this envelope when she posted about it back in July, and thought - ooh! The frog is so cute! And then, lucky me, the frog showed up in my mailbox.

Frogman strikes again

More of this wonderfully weird Japanese stationery, featuring a man in a business suit wearing a frog head.



He used a delightful wax seal again, which survived the mail from Canada pretty well. There tends to be a delay on international mail with a wax seal, especially from Canada (sometimes from the UK also), but it's worth the wait.

Rainy frog dude

I have no idea what this Japanese stationery really means, but I love it. What's with the guy in a little suit and tie wearing a frog head? And there are also real frogs and little black tadpoles swimming around... but the pinnacle of cool is that the lines radiate out in pond ripples. Love it.



This correspondent generally uses wax seals, too, and this seal survived the trip from Canada pretty well.

Pig Pig with glimmer mist

It's a little hard to tell from this photo unless you view large, but I sprayed this with pearl glimmer mist to make it a little glittery.

This is some of my only official kawaii stationery, with four designs: bear, cat, frog and pig.
