Beauty Batty

Beauty Batty

This fabulous blog reader letter from Ireland came on the cutest stationery: Beauty Batty!

Beauty batty envelope

Obviously I went "squeee!!" and kvelled over it for a while before I even opened it.

Beauty Batty page

The inside page did not disappoint - what cute little batties! I should mention that it was also a delightful letter. I don't hear a lot from Ireland, so that was cool in and of itself, but this was a fine letter to receive.

Is it Halloween yet??!

Here are a couple of closer looks at these plump little bats.

Note the "you're beautiful because you smile at me" line at the bottom of the printed page.

Thai peacock stamps, from Ireland!

Does this gal read my blog well or what? She actually sent me some of those gorgeous Thai peacock stamps I'd previously praised! Who would have thunk I'd get Thai stamps from Ireland?

Hand-painted peacock stationery

Hand-painted peacock

The amazing artist over at All My Hues has done it again - she sent me this gorgeous hand-painted peacock stationery!

Hand-painted peacock

See the gold glitter in its tail? Isn't it AWESOME??

I just had to do a close-up on that glitter because I love it so much.

I'm very fond of peacocks, and this is one of the finest representations I've seen. I'm so floored that it was painted just for me! She blogged about it in detail when she made it, in case you'd like to learn more about all the wonderful materials she used; I'm not an artist, but I do know she did this on Crane paper.

I am SO honored to receive this gorgeous work of art - and she wrote a really great letter around it, too!

Another iridescent peacock stamp!

Iridescent peacock!

Remember that incredible iridescent Thai peacock stamp I blogged about back in August? That came to me from Postcrosser Sathitporn.

Well, get this - his brother, Nareeporn, is also a Postcrosser. Nareeporn got my name on a Postcrossing Postcard ID, too - and he wrote that he saw my blog and blog entry about his brother's card and stamp, noted I loved the peacock stamps, and sent me a DIFFERENT stamp from the same series on this postcard! That is SO COOL! And, just to be extra-awesome, he used another elephant stamp. I love elephants, too. Wow. I was just blown away by the story... Postcrossing really does demonstrate how small the world can be.

It came on the back of this postcard.

Thank you, Nareeporn in Bangkok!

Splendiferous peacock stamps

Chinese stamps + peacock

For some reason, one week in July brought not one but TWO incredible peacock stamps, from two different countries. Above we have two lovely stamps from China; if you view large, you might be able to see that the border of the peacock stamp is actually metallic gold foil.

As lovely as the Chinese peacock stamp is, though...

Terriffic Thai stamps

... it cannot hold a candle to this Thai peacock stamp. An elephant and a peacock together, what could be better?

Best. Peacock. Stamp. Ever.

Here's a closer look, but if you really zoom in, you can see that the stamp is even iridescent. Wow. That is seriously spectacular.

The wonderful stamps came on the above Postcrossing postcard, TH-23811, from Postcrosser Sathitporn.
