Edward Gorey smorgasbord

Edward Gorey smorgasbord

A blog reader sent me this wonderful array of Edward Gorey mail art. The envelope is decorated with Gorey illustrations, and she included handmade Gorey cards with handmade Gorey envelopes. What a treat!

  1. I'm looking at Mr. Poe and thinking the USPS ought to make Gorey stamps!

  2. I love Edward Gorey. These are great. I would really like to visit the Edward Gorey House in MA sometime, but it's a little too far for a quick trip.

  3. Felicity - I couldn't agree more!!

Christine - I DO live close enough for a quick trip, and yet I've never been to the Edward Gorey house. I really do need to make that a summertime goal!

  4. Love the Edward Gorey cards! Makes me think of the opening credits of Masterpiece Mystery which had an animated Edward Gorey intro complete with screams!

  5. I almost went there this past summer, but public transit made it too much of a hassle to get there from Boston. You'll have to let us know how it is!

  8. Those are pretty cool.

I've heard of your blog for a while but just started checking it out. I tend to use a typewriter for many letters but enjoy hand-writing them, too. I'm glad there are so many people around who are keeping the art of letter writing alive. Great blog.
