No unicorn postcards?

I've only got 5 people signed up right now for my Unicorn postcard swap and I'm wondering why. I blogged about it earlier this week and I'm really excited about it; I'm surprised there are so few people participating.

Honest feedback, anyone? Deadline too soon? Don't have unicorn postcards? Just not interested in this theme? I'd love to hear your feedback, as I'm planning on coordinating some more postcard swaps later in the summer and want to know what works and what doesn't. Thanks in advance for any comments!

  1. I wish I had unicorn postcards! I looked through my collection but there were no unicorns hiding in there. I think it's an awesome idea for a swap.

  2. Great idea! Unfortunately, I have no idea where to get unicorn cards in my area! ;)

  3. Thanks for your comments, Bianca and pic. I think the next time I do this, I'll allow a huge lead time for people to get unicorn postcards. That's what I did for the first unicorn postcard swap I joined.

Pic, there's nowhere to get unicorn cards (or any other cool stationery) in my area either -- I get everything online.

  4. Sadly, I don't have any unicorn postacards. Anyway sound like a really nice idea. Hope you get more people to do it.

  5. I think that people are busy...it is summer and everyone is out and about. I have had a sad mail day (no mail day) almost every day for three weeks. It has been empty so long I would think the Post office had stopped delivery of my mail if I wasn't getting netflicks in the box... Maybe you could try again closer to the fall when people are back from vacations etc :)

  6. Elle, thanks for that thought - it's different for everyone, I guess! Summer is my easy time when I have time to do stuff like this, so I forget that not everyone else feels the same way about summertime. I'm very unlikely to host any swaps in the fall due to my own schedule.

  7. They don't have any unicorn postcards here either, but I'm still thinking what to send you so I could do something unicorn related ;) I do love them (& dragons)

  8. I think it is a cute idea for a swap. I do have one "unicorn" postcard but it is kind of an ad postcard and it is a small line drawing. I was thinking about joining but I didn't want to disappoint anyone with my lame unicorn.

  9. I'm always up for a swap, but I'm sorry, I don't much care for unicorns and I don't have any in my stash. If I had one, I'd do it though.

  11. I think it's a combination of the short deadline, low summer swapping participation, and the general lack of awesome postcards. I know, I know, you said right in your swap description that Etsy.com is a great source for unicorn postcards, but I don't think there was enough time for anyone unfamiliar with Etsy to do their research & order. I know that when I'm swapping, I like to have the item ready to swap by the time the signup deadline arrives...otherwise I'm nervous that it won't arrive in time!
