Wax seal: quill pen and inkwell

wax seal: quill pen and inkwell

Here is a charming wax seal for you all: a quill pen and an inkwell. Lovely little detail in it. It came on the letter of a fountain pen user, of course!

  1. Inside, on the letter? Or the old way, on the back of the envelope?

I used to use seals/wax on the envelope, many years ago. But fear messing with the newer P.O. sorting machines, today. But I still want to get some wax and put a seal, on the letter, itself. :-)

    Must ... remember .... to ... get .... wax!

    Gentle hugs,

  2. The wax seal was outside, on the envelope. This one made it through the postal system with no damage whatsoever.

There are special kinds of "plastic" wax that are designed to be flexible with today's sorting machines, but I still see real wax make it through okay, sometimes.

  3. You must find out where they got that seal! :-O

  4. Certainly! (It's from a member of FPN, naturally.)

  5. When I saw that seal, I thought I had one just like it. I dug through my desk drawer and what do you know it was the same one! If I remember correctly, I got it several years ago from Victorian Papers.

  6. NO Way! Victorian Papers, huh? I don't know if they still sell it or not.

  7. I bought it about 15 years ago so I'm not sure if my memory is accurate :) or if Victorian Papers would still carry it.

  8. I just cruised their site, and I don't see anything like it now. Ah well.

  9. But wait - I found it somewhere else! It's called Brass Wax Seal Quill/Ink at Nostalgic impressions.

I don't know anything about this store and have never ordered from there, so this isn't an endorsement - just reporting the results of a little research.
